Virginia Military RecordsMore research is required to determine how and if these various Ray and Wray men fit into my family tree. The Library of Virginia online catalog is the source for most of the information provided. It was my goal to determine if my direct line ancestor, Nathaniel Ray, Jr d. 1823, Allen County, KY recieved a land grant for his service in the War of 1812. Entries in the volume include names, length of service or item being compensated for, and the amount of compensation in pounds, shillings, and pence.
