WILLIAM JONES, guardian for minor heirs of EATON RAY>, deceased. April 1, 1861. Received of WILLIAM JONES, Clerk of Wayne County, in part of our distributive share of the proceeds of sale of land and slaves, sold by decree or court, belonging to the estate of EATON RAY, dec’d. Signed HENSON RAY and MOSES RAY. Witnessed, HARTWELL BATTLES.

April 1, 1861. Due WILLIAM JONES, ten dollars borrowed money.

JESSE DICUS, March 1861. WILLIAM JONES, guardian for MARTHA RAY, dec’d, attested by J.S. SMITH, E.Y. SPEER and J.M. BENHAM. MAY 10, 1861. Account of WILLIAM JONES for NATHAN RAY, with GRIMES and ROSS.

To WILLIAM BARRY, for medical services rendered NATHAN RAY.

To WILLIAM JONES, “Sir, please give WILLIAM TURNBO, a credit of three hundred and seventy-five dollars in my part of the estate of EATON RAY, dec’d” January 6, 1862. Signed MATESON RAY.

July 1, 1861. To Mr. WILLIAM JONES. ‘Sir, please send me that forty dollars that you promised to pay me and this shall be your receipt for that amount.” RACHEL RAY.

August 4, 1862. Received of WILLIAM JONES, Clerk of Country Court, fifty dollars in part of the interest of HENSON RAY, dec’d. In the proceed of said sale of the personal and real property, sold by a decree of court, belonging to the estate of EATON RAY, dec’d. JESSE DICUS.

Plaintiff. WILLIAM TURNBO

Defendant. JAMES A. RAY and wife Orator would show that S.H. TURNBO departed this live in Wayne County about the March 15, 1874, after having made and published his last will and testament. Leaving surviving him MARTHA his widow, who died intestate in said County on November 6, 1876, and the following children to wit: MARY JANE, who intermarried with JAMES RAY; AMBROS TURNBO; RACHEL ANN TURNBO; NANCY, who intermarried with GEORGE MATHEWS; JOHN TURNBO; WILLIAM TURNBO; SALLIE TURNBO; JULIA TURNBO; MARTHA TURNBO; ELIZA (LIZZIE) TURNBO;

Orator would state that he entered upon his duties oas executor after the will had been duly admitted to probate. And after the death of MARTHA, he was appointed administrator on her estate by the County Court. Bond. WILLIAM TURNBO, J.H. NEWBORN aPRIL 26, 1878. Ordered by Court that WILLIAM TURNBO, executor, in conjunction with the Clerk and Master proceed to sell said real aand personal estate. WILLIAM TURNBO became the purchaser.

The lands sold described as follows. One tract situated in Wayne County, Dist. 1 on waters of Beech Creek in Range 11, beginning south east corner of a survey in the name of JOHN Y. ROPER--to M. ROBERSON’s east boundary line. Also one other tract beginning west of n.w. corner of ROBERT CARY’s entry. One other tract s.s. corner of ISAAC ROBERSON -- to west boundary of JESSE SATTERFIELD’s entry -- to J.A. STEEL s s.w. corner.

Ten shares to the amount of $70 per 1 share.

MARY RAY; AMBROSE TURNBO; RACHEL ANN wife of MAL HARDIN; NANCY MATHEWS WIFE OF GEORGE MATHEWS; JOHN TURNBO; WM TURNBO; SALLIE wife of DOCK KYLE; JULIA TURNBO; MARTHA TURNBO; and ELIZA TURNBO; JAMES A. HOLT is the guardian of JOHN, WILLIAM AND SALLIE TURNBO.
