Surely the Hix Jones Ray that was born in Brunswick County, VA and
moved onto Wayne County, TN and later
the Jackson Purchase Area of Kentucky
is related to the Hicks Wray, b. 1797 who stayed in Brunswick County, VA.
The Hix Jones Ray that moved to the Jackson Purchase Area of KY is
my great great great grandfather - I'm not sure how this second Hicks
fits into the branches of the family tree.
Can anyone provide additional data? This is what I have found so far:
Timeline:
1797 - Hicks Wray born
27 Nov 1820 - Married Nellie Wright (b. 1803) in Brunswick Co, VA

Nellie was born in 1803 and was the daughter of Elizabeth Wright, who gave permission for the marriage. Arline McGuire reports that there are a number of Ray / Wright marriages.
