QuiltingAncestor Stories > Today > Quilts I have to make a disclaimer. I really don't know how to quilt. I sew together pieces of cloth, fill it with batting and tie tack the thing together. I love antique quilts and own several. I have great admiration for folks who can actually spread out a design and stitch little tiny stitches to make a warm and wonderful family heirloom. I don't have that much time or talent. No, what I call quilts are not of the same variety of what others would consider quilts. But here is the good news, my family loves that I make these for them. In the fall of 2003, I decided to make a quilt for the newest family addition, baby Alex. I had fabric and went for help to my good friend Roma's house. She really did more than I did but with her guidance, I managed to crank out several quilts from November 1, 2003 until Christmas 2003. Yes, it was quite a feat. I have placed my "Quilt Diary" online. The quality of my quilts is improving and it is fun for me to look back on what I have created and how much better they are now. I am, however, still a rookie! |
