JOHN BESSON OBIT
John Besson, age 71, of Fairland Oklahoma passed away at the Veterans hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas Friday evening where he had been a patient for several weeks. Born October 1, 1910 at Leesburg, Missouri, he came to Fairland from Ft. Dodge in 1975 after retiring from Kansas Civil Service. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy, member of James L. Wallen American Legion post of Fairland and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Francis Wood of Miami Oklahoma.; Mrs. Patsy Austin of Bucklin Kansas. 1 son, Merl Besson of Ionia Michigan. 9 grandchildren and 6 great Grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday May 11, 1982 at Hickory Grove cemetery near Grove Oklahoma with Minister Ed. Jones officiating, and burial under the Cooper Funeral home of Fairland, Oklahoma.John married Minnie Frances HOWARD daughter of Robert Henry Seymor HOWARD and Fanny Florence USSERY on 13 Sep 1932 in Eldorado Kansas. Minnie was born on 16 Mar 1911 in Salem Arkansas. She died on 16 Jun 1980 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was buried in Hickery Grove Cemetery, Ottawa Co. Ok..
