Jasper Newton Cook
My great great grandfather, Jefferson Davis Cook, was known as J. D. Cook and as "Dave" Cook. According to his death certificate his father was Nuton Cook and he was born in Calloway County, Kentucky. Researching census records lead me to Jasper Newton Cook. The dates for Jefferson Davis Cook to be a member of this family really don't line up very well as there was an Andrew J. Cook born in 1860 to Jasper Newton Cook and Catherine Hawkins. I am hoping that someone will be able to tell me the fate of the children of Jasper Newton Cook. There is a Jefferson Cook, age 10, in the 1860 census, however.
