Estelle Campbell Pufalt married Charles (Carl) Pufalt. The Pufalt family were immigrants from Germany and lived in Granite City with another immigrant family, Grunwald. Estelle's brother, Scott Campbell, married Edna Grunwald. Since both Scott and several of the Pufalt family members worked at Granite City Steel, it is very likely that is how they all met. Estelle and Carl did not have any children but are likely the people who financed Estelle's nephew's, William Scott Martin, trips to Hollywood. The family wanted young Billy to become a child star, or at least an understudy for then child star, Jackie Coogan. Young Billy was a ringer for the star. Both Billy and his grandmother, Estelle's mother, Emma Cassell Campbell lived with Carl and Estelle off and on over the years. Estelle died a young woman and was buried at St. John's Cemetery in Granite City, IL. It is not known if Carl remarried or remained single. He is not buried along with his wife according to cemetery records.
Estelle worked for a doctor, was born in E. St. Louis, IL and lived in Granite City, IL. Carl was a local well known barber.

I often use Yahoo People Search to find possible "kin", by matching last names and similiar locations, I can sometimes find others with the same family line. I wrote to Caroline Pufalt and had a GREAT surprise when I opened my e-mail and found this note from her!
"I'm Caroline Pufalt: My grandfather was Fred Pufalt, brother to Carl E Pufalt. I don't know a lot about my family history. My father, William Pufalt and grandfather are deceased. My aunt, Marcella, who was daughter of Sophie Pufalt (wife of Fred) and Fred's stepdaughter is still living. She is 85 but in ill health in a nursing home. I asked her about Carl. She recalls that he was a barber, who cut her hair several times when she was a child. She says he was heavy set and friendly. My mother, Loretta Pufalt, recalls that Carl did remarry but doesn't think they had any children."
